After the European Elections held on May 25, 2014, PSOE entered a renewal process. Given the poor electoral results, Pérez Rubalcaba initiated a process to appoint a new Secretary-General. On July 26 and 27 the Extraordinary Congress chose Pedro Sánchez as the new leader, confirming the result obtained in a consultation among all members of the party. This report analyses the renewal process of the management team of the Spanish Socialist Party and the challenges it will have to face.
