The legacy of Kirchnerism: situation of the next Argentine Government one year before the presidential elections

In exactly one year, the next presidential elections in Argentina will be held. Current President, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, cannot run for President again and has not appointed a candidate yet. Everything seems to show that the next President will either belong to an opponent faction within her political group, Peronism, or to a different political party.

The country is currently experiencing a recession and high inflation, with a closed and isolated economy. The challenges for the next Argentine president will be huge and the key will be, as pointed out in the report, the need to restore the trust of foreign investors.

This report analyses the multiple economic challenges that the next President will have to tackle.
