The post-Paris scenario: heading to a global energy transition?

The Paris agreement of December 2015 forwarded a clear signal about the irreversible path towards clean energies and, in that sense, served to verify that a global energy transition is in progress. This agreement has a significant meaning in European policies on energy and climate, being necessary to decisively confront the challenge of the transition to a sustainable, clean energy economy. The European Commission has a special responsibility in the implementation of the commitments made in Paris.
