Communication management for epidemics of the 21st century

Since ancient times, epidemics have caused mass panic because they are unpredictable, because there is no immediate cure or vaccine, and because they cannot be controlled by health institutions. The result has been the death of millions of human beings and socioeconomic changes of great impact. Currently, with the arrival of zika, that panic moves to the digital media, in which the protagonist is the digital citizen.

In epidemics of the 21st century , the protocols created a few years ago are almost obsolete. The following article seeks to translate the challenges of managing communication of these viruses and the keys to use the digital environment as a tool for prevention and control of outbreaks.
